Senior Trip: Annual Bus Trip - Boothbay Railway Village

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Go back in history to a time soon after Maine became a recognized state in 1820, in that powerful period between the mid-19th and the mid-20th centuries when America - and Maine - became and industrial powerhouse, largely on the backs of small 24" gauge trains that lugged supplies and workers through narrow, out of the way passages to early settlers hungry to grow their villages and towns bursting with goods for export. What you learn about how far Mainers have come since the "old days", how smooth and sleek the fender of a vintage auto is. Walk around the Village Green visiting the vintage structures: shops, a barn, a chapel, town hall, fire station, garage and other historic and humble structures that speak to the time when life may have been harder - but simpler. Lunch will be purchased from Beach Pea Bakery and enjoyed in the village. Transportation will be provided by Custom Coach in one of their coach buses which features comfortable seats and a lavatory.
